So this post is something different to what I’ve done in a long time – a WIAW! Since my life is a lot less chillaxing and a lot more frenzied list making, I haven’t had the patience or drive to make so many unique goodies, so I figured a happy recap of weekend munchies might be a meagre but satisfactory offering. Now that I’m working from home my munchies are frequent and the cups of coffee bigger, but overall it’s nice to get to be a bit more choosy about what I get to make instead of soggy steamed and cold vegetables for lunch or what not. Though that wouldn’t hurt 😉

WIAW!
You probably can’t believe your eyes but yes, I am sharing a WIAW after a long hiatus on this front. I’ve been sick pretty much the whole year, so my eats have gone rather erratic, from minimalist to stretchy pants, but I figured it’s always cathartic to share one’s munchies (at least for food lovers), so here goes! (Oh, and I had lots of fun with the effects settings on my phone, so forgive the liberties :p)
WIAW + What I Wanted to Eat # 2
I’ve been on the quiet side of late, partly because of cat overload and partly because I’m low on fun ingredients, so I’ve decided to tide you over til the next post on Friday with this What I ate & What I Wanted to Eat mashup. My WIAW posts are pretty standard since I’m a creature of habit, so I thought it would be fun to show you what I craved next to what I actually munched, since I’m sure I’m not the only one who is always grumpy at the lack of daily flair to their meals. WIAW + for the love of cats
Yesterday was absolute chaos, and so I bring to thee chaos snacks and comfort food once more! It seems to coincide with winter quite nicely, this fattening up business, but alas there’s no hibernation to follow! Continue reading
WIAW + back in action!
I can’t believe it’s been so long since I’ve posted! Life has been insane to a whole new level thanks to endless assignments which have made no sense, but luckily two big ones are done (or at least I submitted before the due date, though who knows if they’re anywhere near correct!) so I’m back and ready to take on projects again. What better way to get back into the swing of things than with a WIAW?
Lazy WIAW
Here’s another WIAW for those of you who have voyeuristic tendancies. It was a super lazy day yesterday since I took the afternoon off to help a pal out, and I was feeling very much like a hermit. Enter snacks galore! Continue reading
Comfort eating WIAW
WIAW + public holiday vibes
WIAW with a vengeance! Last week my attempts at WIAW were foiled by loadshedding and a feeling that I would essentially be spamming everyone with poorly-lit phone photos, but luckily yesterday was a public holiday so it looked a tiny bit better (but not much!), and thus I offer up my eats and treats 😀
WIAW + what I wanted to eat
You might be pulling faces at my title, but I’m linguistically challenged at the moment, working most of the day with numbers and all sorts of things, so please bear with me.
The idea behind today’s WIAW is to show what I actually ate and what I had would ideally have liked to eat. Now that I’ve got the two jobs and am working full day and then bouncing off (or dragging myself) to do some power walking with a pal after work, there isn’t much time to actually make sumptuous meals or take grand photos, so I’m pretty much stuck with what I have to eat when I’m in fact wishing I had time to make some favourites. I’m sure I’m not the only one who sits with a sad meal and thinks wistfully back to better eats. So here it is: what I had and what I wanted!
WIAW and first world problems
Today’s WIAW is a usual spread of eats, all of which I need to start revamping! I’m the sort that, once I figure out what I like, stick with it pretty much forever, but with next week looming and two jobs in one day, my time for the blog will be even less since I don’t get the “luxury” of two days off a week. First world problem of choice: being employed every day (but admittedly still for peanuts!). So now I’m going to have to rewire my timing to still bring fun new recipes but made in between loadshedding, cat shelter stuff, family duties and other things on weekends, which is usually when I kick back and have one big pajama party. Ah well, onto yesterday’s eats!
And don’t forget you can download the free ebook if you haven’t yet had a chance!
